| We drove to Mutianyu again for a day with Julie Upton-Wang, Gina's friend from Massachusetts. We took a quick trip around the Forbidden City so Lindsey could see it before leaving China. We drove north east to the mountains, where we stopped at "The Schoolhouse At Mutianyu" for lunch. The chef is from India, trainined in France, and now well, in Mutianyu, creating fantastic meals for those wise enough to find their way to the Schoolhouse. After the fabulous food, we were given a special demonstration of artisan glass blowing. Videos to follow, but it was fascinating. On to the mountain - we took a two-person ski lift to the top, had a major photo shoot with the medalist, and then......took the tobaggan slide down. Lindsey actually had fun ( but was reluctant to admit it). Then a quick trip back to Beijing for the gold medal match in wheelchair rugby - US vs Australia. |
