ATHENS, GREECE (September 22, 2004)- American archer Lindsey Carmichael
(Lago Vista, Texas) shot in the 1/8 Round and the Quarterfinals on
Wednesday.
Carmichael shot 145 in the 1/8 Round beating her competitor from
Belarus by 22 points. “The first round was good,” says Carmichael.
In the quarterfinal round Carmichael met Ratchanee Panmai of Thailand.
Panmai beat Carmichael by 8 points. “The last round was not quit
there,” says Carmichael. “If I had to lose, I would rather lose with
two world records.”
The Paralympic archery competition is being contested at the Olympic
Baseball Centre, whereas the Olympic archery competition was held at
Panathinaiko Stadium. Carmichael likes the Olympic Baseball Stadium. “I
am happy we are shooting here instead of Panathinaiko Stadium.
Panathinaiko is perfect for swirling winds and it is difficult to
predict the wind pattern,” explains Carmichael. “The winds are more
predictable and constant in the Baseball stadium.”

2. Hryshko, Tatsiana, BLR, 113
